*Ahem* That title is supposed to be sung to the God of War theme song. I tend to have a problem conveying music through text, as seen here in a chat with my friend Mark:
Lisa: CAN YOU FIND ME AN MP3 OF THE WEDDING MARCH? THAT GAYASS SONG THAT PLAYS RIGHT AFTER THE KISS? IT GOES DUUUUN DUUUUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DA-DA-DUN DUN DA-DUUUNNNNNN
Mark: NO. I REFUSE.
Mark: ….after the kiss... they play that while the bride is walking up the aisle
Lisa: NO, THAT’S: DUN DUN DA-DUN
Lisa: DUN DUN DA-DUN
Mark: I CANT READ YOUR DUN DUNS
So the incredible God of War 3 demo taught me that sometimes you just gotta slice Centaurs in half. You gotta do it. Has to be done.

Also, it taught me that killing your mode of transportation (Harpies) while they are already in the middle of transporting you WILL, in fact, still get you where you need to go. Kratos is an ungrateful prick. These things happen.
Also also, Kratos is not unlike Guybrush Threepwood as seen in this photo. One is a blood-thirsty angry motherfather who has been dicked over so many times it has given him a strong urge to crush the skulls of every breathing creature in his path and the other is Kratos. BAHA.
I’m really stoked for the new GoW. I got pumped up when I saw the remastered versions of GoW 1 and 2 for the PS3, which LOOK like they could be early PS3 games. That’s how cleaned up they are. I completely advise buying the collection.
…Unless you are that jerkweed from GameStop the other day who returned the remastered games saying he got ten minutes into it and thought it was stupid and repetitive. OMG. YOU WILL BURN.

I'd hate to imagine that same guy playing an FPS game then so.
ReplyDelete*runs*
Seriously though. I've never EVER played God of War before. What exactly am I missing, and is it worth my money getting the remasters or just buy the PS2 ones pre-owned?
If an idea is not executed well, then sure it's repetitive, monotonous, and most likely not worth playing. When an idea (even if not 100% original) is executed in a flesh-ripping, face-melting, mind-blowing fashion, then you are missing out on two of the greatest PS2 games ever made.
ReplyDeleteIt's about doing something better than everyone else. God of War I & II stand out in every category of game criteria.
Buy the remastered if you own a PS3. It takes gaming gold and turns it into gaming... platinum.
Just get it. Seriously. I wouldn't lie to you.
I second that *in Arnold Schwarzenegger voice* DO IT DO IT NOW!!! You might also want to pick up Chains of Olympus for the PSP to the the whole story. Is anyone getting the God of War 3 CE? I might just for the cool Pandora's box thingy.
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there with your trophy reference Lisa. Very sly indeed.
ReplyDeleteBoth 3 and the re-masters weren't on my radar before, and after I done a bit of sniffing, I found out that they won't be out here until next year. And knowing Sony's timing, they'll release at the same time as GOW3 (similar to how they delayed Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD until the same day Street Fighter 4 came out, making it redundant), but hey, if I can swag all of them in a treble pack then all will be good with the world.
I only own GOW on the PSP. I personaly prefer Ninja Gaiden Sigma gameplay wise. GOW has DA COMBOEZ but you can often just spam a move with no real punishment. Can't fault it's pacing and presentation though.
ReplyDeleteOh and James, sony don't delay stuff released on PSN, they release it as soon as it's been tested, blame capcom.
ReplyDeleteI think I just commented on a post where you were complaining that some genres (fighting) are just bad because they are repetitive. win for tolerance :D
ReplyDelete@thegamingbuddha Oh yeah the PSP game! Totally forgot about that one. DURRRRRR. And to think I even have the Kratos PSP...
ReplyDelete@Scoutski Hahaha Hey now! Don't be an a-hole! I'll have to Hadouken you. I *personally* think fighting games are repetitive because I MUST have a compelling story, like in the God of War games. I realize a lot of fighting games DO have backstories and the characters themselves have stories, but it's definitely not the same. Perhaps I am intolerant at times with games. It's because I'm an angsty smartass. These things happen.
Cmooooon, you totally opened yourself up for that one haha :D
ReplyDelete@B: I was on Capcom's forum numerous times asking about the issue and they said it had been submitted for approval to all territories at the same time as the Xbox version, how Sony America cleared it and Sony Europe didn't, I really don't know, but it was out of Capcom's hands as far as they were concerned.
ReplyDeleteGuybrush Threepwood = Awsomeness!!!
ReplyDeletewow! i guess there are still rad people in this world.
